Bradley A. Minch, Chris Diorio, Paul Hasler, Carver Mead Computation and Neural Systems California Institute of Technology Pasadena, CA 91125 (818) 395-6996 [email protected] ABSTRACT In this paper, we describe a novel circuit consisting of N + 1 MOS transistors and a single oating gate which computes a soft maximumof N current inputs and re ects the result in the output transistor. An intuitive description of the operation of the circuit is given. Data from a working two-input version of the circuit is presented and discussed. The circuit features a high output voltage swing and an interesting feedback mechanism which causes its output impedance to be comparable to that of a normal MOS transistor despite the fact that the output device is a oating-gate transistor.

A vMOS Soft-Maximum Current Mirror - Circuits and Systems, 1995. ISCAS '95., 1995 IEEE International Symposium on

In this paper, we describe a novel circuit consisting of N + 1 MOS transistors and a single floating gate which computes n soft maximumof N current inputs and reflects the result in the output transistor. An intuitive description of the operation of the circuit is given. Data from a working two-input version of the circuit is presented and discussed. The circuit features a high output voltage s...

An Ultra-Low Power Variable Gain Current Mirror

A power efficient gain adjustment technique is described to realize programmable gain current mirror. The dissipation power changes over the wide gain range of structure are almost negligible. This property is in fact very interesting from power management perspective, especially in analog designs. The simple structure and constant frequency bandwidth are other ever-interesting merits of propos...

Implementing Intelligence on Silicon Using Neuron-Like Functional MOS Transistors

We will present the implementation of intelligent electronic circuits realized for the first time using a new functional device called Neuron MOS Transistor (neuMOS or vMOS in short) simulating the behavior of biological neurons at a single transistor level. Search for the most resembling data in the memory cell array, for instance, can be automatically carried out on hardware without any softw...

A Power Efficient Gain Enhancing Technique for Current Mirror

This work introduces a new and simple method for adjusting the gain of current mirror. The major advantage of the proposed architecture is that, unlike the conventional variable gain current mirror, it does not need the change of the biasing current to adjust current gain. Therefore, the power dissipation remains constant in all of the gain settings. In addition, the proposed variable gain curr...

Treatment of the Mirror Foot with Central Ray Resection: Report of 2 Cases

The mirror foot is a rare congenital foot anomaly which is often associated with 6- to 8-toed polydactyly. Postaxial polydactyly is the most common form of this anomaly, while central polydactyly is seen infrequently. We report on 2 cases of the central mirror-foot anomaly. Calcaneus duplication and fibular hypoplasia were present in 1 case. We treated both patients by resecting the middle foot...
